How to create a VietQR payment code
1. How VietQR works
VietQR is Vietnam's common payment QR standard built by NAPAS (National Payment Corporation of Vietnam) and its member banks. A VietQR code encodes:
- Bank identifier (BIN): for example 970436 (Vietcombank) or 970415 (VietinBank).
- Beneficiary account number: the account that receives the money.
- Amount: optional, pre-filled for the payer.
- Transfer message: optional, such as an order number.
When a customer scans the code with any Vietnamese mobile banking app, the details are filled in automatically, avoiding typos in the account number or amount.
2. How to create your code
- Choose your bank and enter your account number and name in capital letters without accents.
- Optionally add the amount and a short message such as an invoice number.
- Pick a card style, click Create VietQR and download the PNG.
3. Tips for businesses
Use a unique message per order (for example the invoice number) so you can match payments easily in your bank statement. Always double-check the account number before printing or sharing the code.
Frequently asked questions
What is VietQR?
VietQR is the national payment QR standard in Vietnam, developed by NAPAS with member banks. Any Vietnamese banking app can scan a VietQR code to fill in the account number, amount and transfer message automatically.
Is it safe to create a VietQR code here?
Yes. The code only contains the bank, account number, optional amount and message, following the EMVCo and NAPAS standards. No passwords or balances are involved and we do not store your details.
Can I print the QR code for my shop counter?
Yes. Choose the "Printable" or "Compact" style, then download the high-quality PNG and print it.
Why must the message have no Vietnamese accents?
Bank transfer messages in Vietnam only support plain Latin characters. The tool removes accents and special characters automatically.
