How to write a CV that gets read

    1. Keep the design simple

Recruiters and applicant tracking systems prefer clean layouts with clear headings, plenty of white space and at most two colours. This A4 template puts your profile and skills in a narrow column and your experience in the main column, so the most important information is visible in the first few seconds.

    2. Writing your experience

    • List jobs in reverse chronological order, most recent first.
    • Start bullet points with strong action verbs: managed, built, improved, reduced.
    • Quantify results: "increased sales by 25% in 6 months" beats "responsible for sales".
    • Tailor the summary and skills to each job description.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this CV maker really free?

Yes. You can fill in your details, preview the A4 layout and download the PDF without signing up or paying. Your data stays in your browser.

Should my CV be one page?

For most roles with under 10 years of experience, one page is ideal. Recruiters spend only a few seconds on a first scan, so keep the most relevant achievements at the top.

Do Vietnamese employers expect a photo on the CV?

Many Vietnamese companies still like a professional photo, while international firms usually prefer CVs without photos to avoid bias. This template is photo-free, which works for both.
